The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has disclosed the challenges it is currently facing, which it said ranges from inadequate patrol vehicles to fuelling the patrol vehicles to undertake round-the-clock patrol of the City.

Speaking to newsmen during the visit of the AIG in charge of zone 7, Adebowale Williams to the Command on Thursday, the FCT Police Commissioner, Haruna Garba, said fueling the patrol vehicles of the command to patrol around the city had become a “big challenge”.

Garba said :

“The challenges of the Command is not but limited to the following : inadequate manpower, especially drivers, inadequate patrol vehicles and fuelling the patrol vehicles to undertake round the clock patrol of the city has become a big challenge.

“I wish to thank the AIG and members of his entourage for finding time to come to interface with the personnel of the Command.

“I can assure you and the Inspector General of Police that the Command will fight crime and criminality in all its forms to the best of our ability.

“Together we shall conquer crime and make the residents of the FCT safe and secure. With God on our side, we will succeed in the task.”

This comes days after the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) reviewed the petrol pump price from N540/litre to N617/litre, the second major increase in two months.

Before the removal of fuel subsidy on May 29, by President Bola Tinubu, Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as petrol, sold for between N197 and N230 across the country.
