Nigerian Customs Service impound truck loaded with 73 locally-made guns. The ammunitions were hidden inside rice bags.

Officers of Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted a truck loaded with 73 locally-made guns and 891 cartridges that were hidden inside bag of rice.





According to reports, the Federal operation unit zone B, on information patrol along Yauri, Zamare water side in Kebbi State, stopped the truck loaded with locally produced rice.

Three people were arrested and are being detained while preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Upon closer inspection, the men of the Nigerian Customs found that the rice bags were packed with ammunitions. At the end of the day, 73 locally manufactured guns and 891 cartridges were reportedly found hidden inside the bags.

Part of the statement posted on its facebook page read :

“Three (3) were immediately arrested and are being detained while preliminary investigation is ongoing”





“Controller of FOU, Zone B, Hamisu Albashar described the feat as a signal to all those who may be planning to bring any harmful items into the country through ZoneB.”

“He calls on members of the public, especially border community dwellers to provide credible information for effective border security.”
