Off-road-ready Pininfarina-designed Polestones 01 SUV enters production, starts at $48,000.

Dubbed a mid-sized intelligent luxury SUV, the recreational truck is developed for long-distance trips.

Polestones 01 SUV uses a CATL battery pack that allows a 235 km (146 miles) drive on electric power alone.

A “range-extending system” acts as a generator for the battery pack, allowing it go a total 1,115 km (692 miles).

Rox Motor-owned Chinese electric vehicle startup, Polestones Automobile, has began the production of Polestones 01, nearly two months after the Land Rover Defender-inspired SUV was presented to the world.

The first production Polestones 01 vehicles is currently being assembled at Beijing Automobile Works (BAW) factory ahead of first customer deliveries in November.

Dubbed a mid-sized intelligent luxury SUV, the recreational truck developed for long-distance trips, is designed by Pininfarina Shanghai Team.

Riding on a 3,010 mm (118.5-inch) wheelbase, the SUVs measures 5,050 mm (198.8 inches) long in six-seat guise or 5,295 mm (208.4 inches) long as a seven-seater, according to Car News China reports.

The Polestones 01 will be available in three versions and 7- and 6-seater options. The 6-seater, which comes in two trims starts at $49,400 USD, while the 7-seater is offered at $48,420 USD.

Inside, the Polestones 01 has leather-wrapped dashboard equipped with an LCD dual screen, roof-mounted screen plus an airline-style seats, similar to the type inside the first-class cabin of the Bentayga Bentayga EWB.

Other features includes an industry-first rear-end compact kitchen revealed when the rear door is opened. The “restaurant system” comes with an induction cooker, water dispenser, storage, and workspace.
