FRSC: Court Jails Pontiac Vibe Driver For 1 Week Over Dangerous Driving, Resisting Arrest
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has secured the conviction of Obi Emeka Uduka over dangerous driving and other traffic offences following a Mobile Court proceeding at the Dutse Alhaji Unit Command of the FRSC, FCT Sector Command.
Uduka was arrested on September 10, 2026, at about 12:00 p.m. during the enforcement operation. He was apprehended while driving a Pontiac Vibe and subsequently arraigned before the Mobile Court over multiple traffic-related offences.
The charges against him included Dangerous Driving (DGD), Driving Licence Violation (DLV), Vehicle Licence Violation (VLV) and Resisting Arrest. The offences covered both his conduct on the road and violations relating to his driving and vehicle documentation.
His Worship Theresa, the presiding Magistrate, heard the case and found Uduka guilty of the offences. The court subsequently sentenced him to one week imprisonment at the Suleja Correctional Centre.
FRSC says that the conviction serves as a warning to motorists who deliberately disregard traffic regulations or engage in conduct capable of endangering other road users. The agency added that it will continue to ensure that traffic violators face appropriate sanctions, particularly where their actions threaten lives on Nigerian roads.
The Corps urged motorists to obey traffic regulations, exercise caution and demonstrate responsible behaviour at all times. It reiterated that road safety is a collective responsibility and warned that motorists who wilfully endanger lives will be held accountable in accordance with the law.
