Rare ‘DD 5’ Car Number Plate Sells For ₦14.4 Billion During Charity Auction In Oil Rich Dubai - autojosh

‘DD 5’ car number plate sold for a AED35 million (about US$9.5m or ₦14.4b) during a charity auction in Dubai.

Coveted ‘DD 5’, won by chairman of Binghatti Holding, was one of five premium car plate numbers that fetched Dh75.9m.

Other plate numbers sold at the auction included DD 12 (Dh12.8m), a DD 77 (Dh12.6m) and a DD 15 (Dh9.2m).





All the money raised goes to the Fathers’ Endowment campaign to support healthcare projects in underserved communities.

The same event has seen record-breaking bids, including a staggering Dh55 million ($15m) for number ‘P7’ in 2023. 

A rare ‘DD 5’ car number plate sold for a staggering AED35 million (about US$9.5 million or ₦14.4 Billion) on Saturday evening during the ‘Most Noble Number’ charity auction held in oil rich Dubai, in United Arab Emirates.

The coveted ‘DD 5’, won by Muhammad BinGhatti, chairman of Binghatti Holding, was one of five premium car plate numbers that fetched Dh75.9 million during the auction organised by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) in collaboration with Emirates Auction.





The price paid to own this sought-after number plate will buy three (3) examples of the Bugatti Chiron that was on display at the exclusive event. The limited-edition hypercar, now sold out, has a starting price of $3.1 million, excluding destination and local taxes.

Other RTA plate numbers that went under the hammer at the auction included DD 12 (Dh12.8 million), a DD 77 (Dh12.6 million) and a DD 15 (Dh9.2 million), the latter, which was also secured by BinGhatti — bringing his total bids to Dh44.2 million.

All the money raised from the auctions goes to the Fathers’ Endowment campaign to support its goal of implementing healthcare projects in underserved communities.

The same event has seen record-breaking bids, including a staggering Dh55 million ($15 million) for number ‘P7’ in 2023 and AED35 million (about US$9.5 million) paid to own a rare ‘AA8’ number plate back in 2022.
