S’East Meeting : Uzodinma Stopped From Taking Armoured Vehicles Manned By Armed Guards Into The Complex
Uzodinma stopped from taking armoured vehicles manned by armed guards into the Complex where S’East meeting was being held.
The move, which was against standing orders and security protocol, reportedly caused a mild drama at the Enugu State Government House.
The security operatives manning the gate insisted that visitors are not allowed into the Government House with weapons.
Uzodinma later had his way, but the Imo State governor didn’t stay long before departing, according to reports.
Nigeria’s South-East Governors on Thursday held an emergency security meeting in Enugu State Capital, Enugu, to address the rising killings, assassinations and insecurity in the region.
Those in attendance at the meeting includes the host, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State and Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State.
Other attendees at the crucial meeting includes members of the apex Igbo group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, royal fathers, religious leaders as well as other stakeholders from the region.
However, the meeting didn’t really go well as planned for Hope Uzodinma after being stopped by security operatives from taking his two armoured vehicles manned armed operatives into the complex.
Hope Uzodinma of Imo State had reportedly insisted that his armoured vehicles, including a Lexus LX 570 SUV, manned by both police and army operatives, must accompany him in.
The move, which was against standing orders and security protocol, reportedly caused a mild drama at the Enugu State Government House. The security operatives insisted that visitors are not allowed into the Government House with weapons, stopped his entourage at the gate.
After a prolonged argument, Uzodinma reportedly had his way, but the Imo State governor didn’t stay long before departing from the meeting, according to reports.
