Second-Gen 2024 Porsche Macan Arrives As A Tech-laden All-electric SUV
2nd-Gen Porsche Macan EV arrives as a performance-oriented all-electric SUV – joins the Taycan as brand’s second EV.
According to Porsche, the Macan Electric SUV will be available in two models : the base Macan 4 EV and Macan Turbo.
The base Porsche Macan EV will start at $78,800, while the top-spec Turbo version has an MSRP of $105,300.
German sports car brand, Porsche, has finally debuted its long-delayed all-new sporty electric Macan SUV after several teases and spy shots, joining the top-selling Taycan as the second EV in Porsche’s lineup.
The performance-oriented Macan heads into its second model generation as an all-electric SUV, ten years after its launch. According to Porsche, the Macan EV will be available in two models : the base Macan 4 EV and Macan Turbo.
“Our aim is to offer the sportiest model in its segment with the all-electric Macan,” says Jörg Kerner, Vice President Product Line Macan.
Adding that :
“With the all-electric Macan, we are presenting the first Porsche that we are taking electric from an established product identity,”
The entry-level Porsche Macan EV boasts 402 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque and an electric drive range of up to 381 miles (613 km). It will accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in 5.2 second and achieve top speeds of 220 km/h.
Meanwhile, the Macan Turbo has up to 630 hp and 833 lb-ft of torque, plus an electric drive range of up to 367 miles (591 km). It reaches 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 260 km/h.
With DC fast charging of up to 270 kW, the Porsche Macan EV’s 100 kWh (95 kWh usable) lithium-ion battery-pack can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in around 21 minutes.
Inside, the Macan is equipped with new-generation infotainment system and up to three screens, including the free-standing 12.6-inch, curved-design instrument cluster and the 10.9-inch central display.
An optional 10.9-inch screen allows passenger to view information, adjust settings on the infotainment system or stream video content while the car is being driven.
The base Porsche Macan EV will start at $78,800, while the top-spec Turbo version has an MSRP of $105,300. Deliveries of the new electric Macan are expected to begin in the second half of the year.
