Security : LASG to progressively install cameras on all authorized public transport vehicles operating in the state.

Head of Bus Services at LAMATA announced this during the Agency’s first village meeting of the year.

Meeting aimed to gather feedback and collaborate with drivers, operators, to enhance BRT, and other bus services.

In a move to improve security, the the Lagos State Government, through the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), has announced plans to progressively install cameras on all authorized public transport vehicles operating in the state.

Dr. Olukemi Amure, Head of Bus Services at LAMATA, announced this during the Agency’s first village meeting of the year to gather feedback and collaborate with drivers, operators, and other stakeholders to enhance BRT, and other bus services.

Also in attendance is CSP Adetayo Akerele, Head of Lagos State Task Force on Environmental Offences, who reassured the drivers of the enforcement team’s dedication to maintaining order on the BRT corridors. He emphasized the significance of driver cooperation and maintaining proper conduct.

Another speaker, Mr. Muiz Ogbara addressed sexual harassment concerns raised regarding the “SheCan” reporting tool, urging drivers to be mindful of this issue.





Empathy towards passengers living with disabilities was highlighted by Mrs. Mrs Foluso Adeolu, Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Orientation at the Lagos State Office of Disability Affairs (LASODA).

Dr. Amure concluded the meeting by guaranteeing that driver concerns would be addressed. She also encouraged them to register with LAMATA’s database to facilitate better monitoring and evaluation.
