Earlier in the year, the Suzuki S-Presso Mini SUV clinched the ‘Budget Car of the Year’ at this year’s 2022 Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) Awards which was held in Lagos on February 9th 2023.

Thanks to its affordability, the S-Presso has become so popular among Nigerians, making the mini-Suzuki arguably the most popular vehicle on the road since its introduction into the Nigerian market in 2021.





Pricing of the fast-selling Suzuki S-Presso starts at around ₦5.5 million when the Mini SUV was first introduced into the Nigerian market in 2021, but unconfirmed reports put the current MRSP price at over ₦6 million.

Oando Clean Energy Limited (OCEL), a subsidiary of Oando Plc, has announced it has taken delivery of the Yutong-branded electric buses for Lagos State Mass Transit that will kick off the Proof of Concept phase of its Sustainable Transport Initiative.

The receipt of the buses follows OCEL’s partnership with the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), for the rollout of electric mass transit buses as well as the development of charging infrastructure and service centres for the battery-electric buses.

OCEL had on April 28, 2022, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with LAMATA, to enable the successful deployment of an Electric Vehicle (EV) Infrastructure Ecosystem towards the attainment of a sustainable road transport system in Lagos State.

The General Manager of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) Prince (Dr.) Ifalade Oyekan recently led officers from two of its five Divisions in Lagos on a bicycle fitness drill as part of efforts to keep the operatives fit and alert for their statutory duties.





The bicycle drill which took place around major streets of Lagos and
Ikeja Divisions of the State involved both male and female officers of the Agency from about nine Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas.

Speaking after the first phase of the fitness drill at the Ikeja Division, Prince Oyekan said the exercise organised for operatives under the Lagos and Ikeja Divisions, will soon be extended to officers in the Epe, Ikorodu and Badagry divisions of the State.

The Federal Government has approved the sum of N3.4 billion for the procurement of surveillance aircraft for the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to aid its operations, especially in the fight against smuggling.

The approval, which was granted by the Federal Executive Council, was announced by Clem Agba, Minister of State for Budget and National Planning.

The Finance Minister, Zainab Ahmed, had earlier announced the approval of three major contracts for the Nigeria Customs Service worth over N20 billion. These includes the construction of blocks of flats in Abuja and procurement of 192 vehicles for Operations and Administrative purposes.
