The Owner Of A Lamborghini Huracan Performante Received The Most Bizarre Fine Ever
The owner of a Lamborghini Huracan Performante received one of the most incredible fines we’ve ever heard of. The unfortunate owner from Staten Island was fined by the police for making excessive noise from his car. To make sure there is no confusion, no changes have been made to the car, it is about the factory settings.
Anthony Aquilino, owner of the Italian supercar, was fined for making excessive noise in his Huracan Performante while driving through Manhattan. Aquilino argues that the $800 fine (which will be significantly higher if he repeats the offence) is unreasonable.
Although it is a ridiculous claim that someone who owns a Lamborghini Huracan cannot afford a fine of 800 dollars, the argument that the fine is unreasonable makes sense.
If the car is sold with factory settings, with the approval of all the necessary regulatory bodies, it is not reasonable to penalize the owner for excessive noise. If you want to silence the cars, it should be done before the car even reaches the customer.
Aquilino made a similar argument in an interview with the New York Post:
The fine is $800 for a first offence. The second offence is $1,700 and the third is $2,700. How can anyone afford that? – asked Aquilino.
‘The only solution is to sell the car,’ said Aquilino.
‘As I have not modified my car to make more noise, I cannot legally be held responsible for any noise. The car is otherwise legal for driving on city streets and undergoes an inspection every year,’ concludes Aquilino.
