Ferrari may have found a way to bring the manual transmission into the modern age with its controversial 12Cilindri Manuale. But one of the biggest rivals—Lamborghini—has no interest in following Ferrari on the same path, writes Motor1.

In an interview with Road & Track, Lamborghini’s chief marketing and sales officer, Federico Foschini, says there could be an “opportunity” in offering buyers a manual transmission, but he doesn’t see it as a trend their production cars should follow.

For Lamborghini, the manual transmission is clearly not a priority. The last production Lamborghini with a manual transmission was the Gallardo LP 560-2 50th Anniversario, which debuted for the 2013 model year. So it’s been more than 13 years without a manual transmission Lamborghini in the lineup.

Lamborghini buyers who would prefer a manual transmission model are probably in the minority. Perhaps an expensive, limited series could appear in the future, but that is unlikely, Motor1 concludes.
