These Concept Cars Unveiled This Year Are Set To Rule The Roads In The Coming Years
This year saw the reveal of tech-filled Concept Cars by major car brands, including the Toyota Land Cruiser Se, a concept that previews an all-electric version of the iconic off-road SUV.
While some concept cars never make it to production vehicles, these ones highlighted below are set to rule the roads in the coming years.
1) T-Mad Concept
Earlier this year at the 20th Guangzhou Auto Show, IAT Automobile Technology debuted the T-Mad Concept, a 5,878 mm long electric pickup truck dubbed as China’s answer to Tesla Cybertruck.
Though still in concept, the gargantuan electric truck is expected to reach the production line and other markets, where it will be able to complete with the likes of Tesla Cybertruck and Hummer EV.
2) Porsche Mission X
In June, Porsche unveiled a dramatic-looking two-seater all-electric hypercar called ‘Mission X’ dubbed ‘an electric dream car’ to mark 75 years since the first car to bear the name Porsche, the 356 ‘No. 1’ Roadster, was unveiled on 8 June, 1948.
The Mission X is expected to go into production. Porsche wants the production model to be the fastest road-legal vehicle around the Nürburgring Nordschleife – a record currently held by the Mercedes-AMG One.
3) Infiniti QX Monograph
In August, Nissan’s luxury brand, Infiniti, revealed the Infiniti QX Monograph Concept, a design study that previews the next-generation of the brand’s biggest SUV, the QX80.
QX Monograph Concept features a unique lighting system that separates the main headlight assembly and daytime running lights. The taillights also feature a smoked finish that illuminates a vibrant shade of red once switched on.
4) Lamborghini Lanzador
Also in August, Automobili Lamborghini unveiled the Lanzador concept at Monterey Car Week, a 2-seater high-riding SUV that previews a purely-electric production vehicle that Lamborghini will present in 2028.
Lamborghini is still mute on the specifications and pricing since it is still 5 years away, but the Lanzador may arrive with a price tag north of $300,000 since the plug-in hybrid V12-powered Revuelto starts at $550,000.
5) Pininfarina PURA Vision
Automobili Pininfarina’s new futuristic concept car called the PURA Vision also arrived in August with unique features, including a gullwing-like doors, which the brand officially refers to as ‘Lounge Door’ openings.
Other unique features a gloss black floating roof, a Bianco Sestriere Gloss body as well as hidden headlights powered by ultra-slim L.E.S.S. nanofiber lighting technology that are less than 1mm thick.
6) Toyota Land Cruiser Se BEV
Toyota Motors Corporation in October gave us a glimpse of the first electric model of its iconic off-road SUV with the reveal of a production-looking Toyota Land Cruiser Se BEV concept.
Land Cruiser Se previews a future electric SUV that wears the nameplate of the iconic off-roader. But unlike the Off-road-ready ladder-frame that the nameplate uses, it uses a unibody structure.
