Toyota Provided 2,650 Electrified Vehicles, 700 Electric Last-mile Vehicles For Paris Olympics 2024

Toyota provided 2,650 Electrified Vehicles, 700 Electric last-mile vehicles for Paris 2024, which comes to an end today.

To make sure everyone move around safely, deliveries of the vehicles began as far back as March 2024.

Toyota brought 100% electrified passenger vehicle fleet to Paris, in line with its commitment to reduce carbon emissions.

Toyota, as the worldwide mobility partner of the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee, provided a passenger vehicle fleet for the 2024 Paris Olympics, which comes to an end today after more than two weeks of action-packed sport in the French capital.

To make sure that athletes, stakeholders, staff, volunteers, and spectators all move around safely, Toyota began deliveries of the eco-friendly vehicles for the 33rd edition of the world’s largest multi-sport event as far back as March 2024.

The hand-over of the first cars of the Paris 2024 fleet took place on March 1st at the Paris 2024 HQ (Pulse building). Overall, Toyota provided a passenger vehicle fleet of more than 2,650 electrified vehicles and 700 electric last-mile mobility solutions.

“Our multi-path approach to reduce carbon emissions, is at the core of the Toyota fleet to be made available to the Olympic and Paralympic family at Paris 2024,” said Yoshihiro Nakata, President and CEO of Toyota Motor Europe said at the event.

The passenger vehicle fleet for the Paris 2024 included hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles, fuel cell hydrogen vehicles and battery electric vehicles. Speaking on the colors used on these vehicles, Jaime Noriega, Technical Manager Styling Division Toyota Motor Europe, said :

“We selected the blue colour for the fuel cell hydrogen vehicles (blue represents the colour of water, the only emission emitted by the vehicle tail pipe), green for the battery electric vehicles (green represents nature signifying the zero tailpipe emissions of BEV), while purple was chosen for the hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles, as the third colour of the Paris 2024 competition sites.”
