Toyota GR GT revealed, the all-new flagship car from the automaker’s new “Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) brand.

The GR GT, a road-legal race car, debut simultaneously with the GR GT3, a new GR GT-based FIA GT3-spec race car.

Toyota says the GR GT and GR GT3 are designed as flagships to replace the Toyota 2000GT of yesteryear and the Lexus LFA.

Both TGR flagship models features Toyota’s first all-aluminum body frame and a 4.0-liter, V8 twin-turbo engine.

In the GR GT, the engine pairs with an electric motor and churns out 650 PS+, allowing it to reach a top-speed of 199 mph.

Toyota has finally debuted the all-new GR GT as the new flagship road-legal race car from the Japanese brand’s new Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) brand after years of development (and ongoing) and countless teasers and spy shots.

The GR GT debut simultaneously with the GR GT3, a new GR GT-based FIA (Federation Internationale d’Automobile) GT3-spec race car that is engineered for all customers who want to win races.

Designed as flagships to replace the Toyota 2000GT of yesteryear and the Lexus LFA, Toyota said that the GR GT and GR GT3 will preserve and pass on “the secret sauce of car-making” to the next generation as “Toyota’s Shikinen Sengu*”.

Both models unveiled are still in Concept forms. Toyota said TGR is continuing development of the GR GT and GR GT3 toward launching better cars around 2027.

While still in concept form, both TGR flagship models features Toyota’s first all-aluminum body frame and a 4.0-liter, V8 twin-turbo engine – in the GR GT, it pairs with a single electric motor and churns out 650 PS+ and maximum system torque of 850 Nm.

Toyota believes that the two-seater GR GT will be able to reach a top-speed of 199 mph (320 km/h) or greater when the production rear-wheel-drive supercar arrives in two years. Expected performance of the GR GT3 is yet to be released.
