A fully-loaded six-tyre sand truck plunges into Epe river in Lagos on Friday night.

LASEMA, on Saturday, retrieved the truck along with the bodies of two adult males.

A fully-loaded six-tyre sand truck plunges into Epe river in Lagos on Friday night.

Two people have been confirmed dead after a sand-laden truck fell off the Berger bridge at Epe into Epe river in Lagos State on Friday night September 25.

According to Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the agency received information late last night of an accident involving a Volvo tipper that fell off the Berger bridge at Epe into the Epe river.





LASEMA said :

“Upon arrival at the scene of incident, it was discovered that the six-tyre truck was loaded with Sand.”

The six-tyre truck has been retrieved along with the bodies of two adult males, possibly the driver of the truck and the driver’s assistants.

“Since the early hours of Saturday, a combined team of Agency responders, Marine Rescue Unit, Nigeria Police and Local Divers have been carrying out Search and Rescue”

The agency reports that the six-tyre truck has been located and retrieved along with the bodies of two adult males; possibly the driver of the truck and the driver’s assistants.

As at the time of writing this report, 2 corpses have been recovered from the scene.

“The exact number of people in the truck can’t be ascertained at present”
