Updated Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S, GLS 63 Gets New Motorsport-inspired Flat-plane Crank V8
Updated Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ (SUV and Coupe), GLS 63 4MATIC+ SUV gets new motorsport-inspired flat-plane crank V8.


Mercedes-AMG has revealed the extensively revised GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ (SUV and Coupe) and GLS 63 4MATIC+ SUV, with the two top models now combining a new V8 power with state‑of‑the‑art tech plus an exclusive new design.
The new GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ and GLS 63 4MATIC+ gets a completely redesigned front section, including an AMG specific radiator grille, enlarged air intakes, exclusive LED lighting, while the rear view has striking twin tailpipes of the AMG Performance exhaust system.

Inside, new updated models gets the latest‑Gen AMG Performance steering wheel with AMG control buttons. In addition, both models can be equipped with optional MANUFAKTUR interior package along with the AMG Night Package II with dark chrome accents.
At the heart of both models is the thoroughly updated AMG M177 EVO engine – a 4.0‑litre biturbo V8 unit with a motorsport-inspired flat-plane crankshaft, which first debuted in the updated 2027 Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W223 Facelift) ultra-luxury sedan.


The updated M177 EVO are complemented by mild‑hybrid tech featuring an integrated starter generator 2.0—which contributes an extra 23-hp and 205 Nm of torque—and an additional 48‑volt electrical system.
In all, the new the M177 EVO delivers the same 612-hp as its predecessor and a maximum torque of 850 Nm, allowing the GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ to reach 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and the GLS 63 4MATIC+ in 4.2 seconds, along with a top speed of 280 km/h (174mph).


Regardless of load, the GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ and GLS 63 4MATIC+ maintain a constant ride height through automatic air‑suspension regulation. In the AMG Dynamic Select drive —‘Sport’ and ‘Sport+’, both models can be lowered by 10 mm while ‘Comfort’ option also allows the vehicles to lowered by 10 mm from 74.5 mph (120 km/h).
