Woman who sets two US police cars ablaze face up to 8 years in prison and a fine of ₦193.7 million.
Footage of the masked woman setting the police cars ablaze was captured by Television news helicopters.
The U.S. Attorney said setting police cars ablaze has nothing to do with peaceful protest.
A U.S. Attorney William McSwain has charged a 33 year old woman, Lore-Elisabeth Blumenthal; with arson for destroying two police cars during last month’s protests.
Footage of the masked woman setting the police cars ablaze was captured by Television news helicopters. The incident happened in Philadelphia on May 30th, 2020.
Lasts months protests broke out across the United States over the death of George Floyd. The protests also resulted in looting and destruction of car dealership.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the Philadelphia Police Department sedan and SUV were parked near City Hall and both were set on fire.

The statements said :
“Various videos taken at the scene captured the defendant wearing protective goggles and gloves; taking a flaming piece of wooden police barricade from the rear window of the PPD sedan that was already on fire; and then shoving the flaming wood into the PPD SUV that was not on fire.”
According to government, she’s now facing a “maximum possible sentence of eighty years in prison. This will be followed by three years of supervised release. She also faces a fine of up to $500,000 (₦193.7 million).
The U.S. Attorney said “torching a police car has nothing to do with peaceful protest or any legitimate message.”
He also added in his tweets that it’s “richly ironic that we identified this alleged arsonist by her peace sign tattoo.”
