1950s Jaguar Mark V On Display At Gras Restaurant Lagos
1950s Jaguar Mark V currently on display at the Gras Restaurant in Victoria Island Lagos.
Built from 1948 to 1951, Mark V was available as a 4-door Sedan and a 2-door Drop Head Coupé.
Mark V was Jaguar’s first car with independent front suspension, hydraulic brakes, spats (fender skirts).
It is also the first Jaguar designed to be produced in both Right and Left Hand Drive configurations.
A well-maintained Jaguar Mark V (pronounced mark five) finished in two-tone color is currently on display at the Gras Restaurant located at 65 Adeola Odeku Street in Victoria Island Lagos.
Built by Jaguar Cars Ltd of Coventry in England from 1948 to 1951, the classic Mark V was available as a four-door Sedan and a two-door convertible known as the Drop Head Coupé, like the one on display at the Gras Restaurant.

Mark V was the first Jaguar with independent front suspension, hydraulic brakes, spats (fender skirts) as well the first Jaguar specifically designed to be produced in both Right and Left Hand Drive configurations.
It was also the first Jaguar with disc centre wheels and smaller wider 16″ balloon tyres. Mark V was also the first to be offered with sealed headlamps and flashing turn signals for the important American market, and the last model to use the pushrod engines.
