5 millionth Mercedes-Benz Sprinter rolls off the assembly line – production milestone achieved after 30 years.
The five millionth vehicle – an all-electric Mercedes-Benz eSprinter – has now been handed over to FedEx.
Milestone Mercedes-Benz eSprinter for FedEx joins its growing global fleet of Mercedes-Benz vans.
The 5 millionth model of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van has rolled off the assembly line at the company’s facility in Charleston, South Carolina, where it has been manufactured for the North American market since 2006.
The production milestone of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter was achieved after 30 years. The five millionth vehicle – an all-electric eSprinter – has now been handed over to FedEx, a long-standing Mercedes-Benz Vans customer.
“The global production of five million Sprinter vans and the celebration of the model’s 30th anniversary is a testament to its enduring success,” said Thomas Klein, Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans.
“This milestone reflects the dedication of our teams, the trust of our customers, and the continuous evolution of a vehicle that has defined the large van segment for three decades. We are proud of this legacy and excited for the future as we continue to drive progress in the van industry,” Klein adds.
The five-millionth Sprinter joins FedEx’s growing global fleet of conventionally powered Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans and the electric powered eSprinter models.
“As our network has evolved and grown over the years, vans from Mercedes-Benz – including the Sprinter and, now the eSprinter – have been there to meet our needs and help us deliver the reliable and superior service that our customers expect,” said Pat Donlon, Vice President, Global Vehicles, FedEx.
FedEx is one of the largest global customers of Mercedes-Benz Vans. It has deployed the Sprinter and eSprinter models for interurban and last-mile delivery services in markets across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and South America.
