Lagos To Close PWD Level Crossing For Ongoing Railway Project

According to Lagos State Government, the PWD level crossing will be on temporal closure from 6:00 pm on Saturday, 7th March 2020 to 6:00 am on Sunday, 8th March, 2020. The closure is for the laying of tracks as part of the ongoing railway modernisation project.
There would be diversions for motorists intending to use this route. You can make a diversion to Ashade Underpass, by Idimongoro to join Ikeja Along. You can as well climb Airport Bridge by Ikeja General Hospital to link Oshodi Motorway to access their various destinations.
All road users are to comply with the traffic signals as well as obey traffic management officers. This would ease the traffic situation and minimise the inconvenience from the construction work at PWD level crossing.
Lagos State Government promises to provide a seamless multi-modal transport system that will meet the transportation need of its large population.
The Federal Government is currently constructing a railway line connecting Lagos to Ibadan. The railway line is going to be the first Double Standard railway line in Nigeria. The 156 kilometers railway track is being built according to Chinese standard and technology. The project which will cost $1.6billion dollars has employed the services of about 7000 Nigerians in the construction.
