See The Damages Caused By The Pipeline Explosion In Abule Ado, Lagos (Photos)

There was a pipeline explosion on Sunday, 15th March, 2020, in Abule Ado Lagos. The effect of the explosion was severe that many lives were lost and properties worth billions of Naira were damaged.
The pipeline explosion shook the foundations of several houses, of which a secondary (Bethlehem Girls College) was one the houses affected. Many of the secondary school students were entrapped in the collapsed building until helpers came around. It has been confirmed that Reverend Sister Henrietta Alokha, who’s the school Principal, lost her life when rescuing the affected school children. May her soul rest in peace.
Several cars were damaged as a result of the pipeline explosion. As you can see in some of the pictures, the impact were much.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) says the explosion in Abule Ado area of Lagos was caused by a truck. The truck hit some gas cylinders stacked in a gas processing plant located near NNPC’s 2B pipeline right of way.

Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari, has warned Lagos residents to desist from building houses, as well as vendors, to desist from selling gas around the corporation’s pipeline right of way (ROW).
This pipeline explosion at Abule Ado took lives and damaged a lot of properties. We should heed to what the GMD of NNPC warned against to avoid future occurrences.
