Covid-19 : Ferrari Is Now Producing Respirator Valves And Fittings For Protective Mask
Italian automaker Ferrari is now producing respirator valves and fittings for protective mask in its efforts to fight the Covid-19 Pandemic.
This comes barely a week after the automaker and clients raised €1m (₦420 million) to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

Italian supercar maker Ferrari has started to produce respirator valves and fittings for protective mask at its Maranello plant.
These thermoplastic components are been produced inside the department where car prototypes are usually built.

This is one of Ferrari’s initiatives in support of health workers treating coronavirus patients in Italy.
Last week, the supercar automaker and clients raised €1million (₦420 million) to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some of these valves are been developed by diving equipment manufacturer, Mares. The valves are tailor-made to fit Ferrari’s masks so as to create emergency masks to assist patients suffering from respiratory failure.
The logistics of the project were handled by Nuovamacut Gruppo TeamSystem. Nuovamacut also helped with the research of the different companies who contributed to the success of the project.

Other fittings are being supplied to Solid Energy, who will use them to transform Decathlon snorkel masks into aids to protect healthcare workers exposed to infection.
In the next few days, Ferrari plans to manufacture several hundred items of equipment that are already being distributed to various Italian hospitals.
These includes hospitals in Bergamo, Genoa; Modena; and Sassuolo; as well as to health workers in the town of Medicina, near Bologna.
