Upcoming Subaru Evoltis, Co-developed With Toyota, Is An Electric SUV On Steroids

Subaru in January gave us the first look at “Evoltis” electric crossover SUV that is being co-developed with Toyota.
Recent reports suggests the electric crossover will make its debut during the Tokyo Motor Show in October 2021.
During a technology briefing in Japan in January 2020, Subaru announced plans to electrify its entire lineup by 2035.
In addition to the revelation, Subaru also displayed the first design study of a new electric vehicle it’s working on.
The Evoltis electric crossover SUV is co-developed by Subaru and Toyota.
Initial report suggest the all-electric crossover that is being co-developed with Toyota will hit the market before 2025.
But now, it appears the full-sized crossover will hit the market earlier than first reported. According to CarBuzz, citing “reports from Japan,” Subaru will likely apply the “Evoltis” moniker to the upcoming battery-electric crossover.
Subaru Japan had earlier applied to trademark the name “Evoltis” in the U.S. in 2018.
The sci-fi concept, according to sources, will now make its debut October 2021. This would be the same month as the next Tokyo Motor Show.
The production Evoltis is expected to feature a larger hexagonal grille, a thicker grille bar, and striking LED headlights that extend to the bumper.
The Evoltis will likely incorporate Subaru’s next-generation EyeSight technology that will include lane change, braking, and steering assists, as well as a 360-degree-sensing camera.
Toyota and Subaru in June 2019 confirmed they would co-develop an EV platform. This platform will underpin C-segment electric SUVs that will be built by both automakers.
The platform will also have the flexibility to underpin a host of other vehicles including C-segment and D-segment sedans and SUVs.
