25 Evacuated Lebanese On Flight From Kano To Beirut Test Positive For COVID-19
25 persons aboard a flight that arrived Lebanon from Kano on Wednesday tested positive for COVID-19. The ministry of health in Lebanon made this revelation.
In April, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the government of Lebanon asked Middle East Airlines to evacuate its citizens from foreign countries.
In line with the directive, among several flights that have taken off between April and May. An aircraft with flight number ME570 took off from Kano to Beirut on May 5. This is according to a flight schedule provided by Middle East Airlines.

However, 25 of the passengers on that flight tested positive for COVID-19. This is according to a statement issued on Wednesday by the ministry of health.
“The Ministry of Public Health announces that it has been confirmed that 25 positive cases with COVID-19 were recorded among the passengers on board the flight that arrived from Nigeria,” it said.
According to the ministry, as of 11:30 am on Thursday, Lebanon’s total number of COVID-19 patients is 784, of which 25 deaths have occurred.
On March 18, the Federal Government of Nigeria has issued a travel ban on 13 countries worldwide. This is due to the constant coronavirus spreading globally. The countries affected are countries that have more than 1,000 cases. The Federal Government is also temporarily suspending all visas issued to nationals from these countries.
On Tuesday, the Federal government of Nigeria commenced the evacuation of stranded Nigerians in London, the United State and Dubai. They engaged the services of Ethiopian Airlines, British Airways and Emirates. Meanwhile, yesterday, the Nigerian Government extended the ban imposed on a local and international flight by four weeks.
