2021 Ford Bronco First Edition Production Increased To 7,000 Units – And It’s Sold Out!
More examples of the 2021 Ford Bronco First Edition have been made available, but it might already be too late to get one.
On the same night that the 2021 Ford Bronco was revealed and the reservation site launched, the one-year-only First Edition sold out.
That was 3,500 vehicles reserved in one evening. Obviously demand was high, so Ford saw fit to go ahead and double production of the First Edition. However, it still sold out.
The announcement arrived in a message to reservation holders and was shared on the internet at places such as online forum Bronco6G.
The Blue Oval is boosting production to 7,000 units, according to info from the Bronco 6G forum. However, an email Ford sent to customers said that the additional vehicles are already reserved, too.
Interestingly, the message notes that anyone who had reserved a First Edition Bronco could cancel the reservation if they wanted now that there will be more.
Due to overwhelming demand, we made a one-time increase to the quantity of limited-edition First Edition models to 7,000 total. Reservations for the limited-edition First Edition 2- and 4-door Broncos are full,” Ford spokesperson Sam Schembari said.
The First Edition exclusively comes with a twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost that makes 310 horsepower (231 kilowatts) and 400 pound-feet (542 Newton-meters) of torque. The only gearbox choice for that engine is a 10-speed automatic.
Reserving a Bronco simply guarantees a spot to pre-order the vehicle from your preferred dealer at a later date. Ford plans to start deliveries of the SUV in the spring.
As for being sold out, still, that came to us from Ford, which confirmed the increase in production. Apparently every two-door and four-door Bronco First Edition reservation is filled. So if you didn’t reserve one earlier and want one, be ready to scour dealers when the deliveries go out. And if you end up buying one that was reserved by a dealer, prepare for a hefty price tag
