Hyundai Teases All New Staria Minivan With Futuristic Looks (Photos)
With the world going crazy over SUVs and Crossovers, Hyundai hasn’t given up on the minivan segment. Now enter the Staria which is an all-new minivan from the Korean automaker. This new minivan is futuristic in looks and Hyundai says it will over premium features. In addition, Staria will be available in a standard and a more luxurious model.
The exterior of the Staria resembles something out of 2001: A Space Odyssey; we dig the sci-fi look of it, and those massive panoramic windows are sure to provide excellent visibility. The LED DRL that crosses straight through the front of the car and the square fog lights wrap things up Cyberpunk style. Hyundai promises that the “STARIA Premium” will offer a refined experience both suited to family and business needs, and will be something completely different from what the market currently offers. “Staria is Hyundai’s new people mover line-up that opens up a new mobility era.
The cabin features a large infotainment system in the middle of the dashboard. There is no visible dedicated screen for the driver, so unless it uses something like a HUD, critical information will probably be shown on the central display. The Staria has a continuous air vent design and a push-button drive mode selector similar to the Santa Fe. The Staria has a generous amount of storage spaces and individual rear captain’s chairs. The latter is probably reserved for the range-topping spec that will be known as the Staria Premium.
Hyundai isn’t providing any technical specifications at this point. Nobody knows whether the Staria is mechanically related to the front-wheel-drive-based Kia Carnival. Additional details will be provided in the following months, and Hyundai says the fancier Premium model will be sold only in select markets.
