Chinese mobile giant Xiaomi is building luxury electric car that will rival Apple and Tesla EVs.

Xiaomi is known for its high-end smartphones dubbed “China’s Apple”.

Xiaomi displaced iPhone maker Apple to become the world’s third largest smartphone maker in 2020.

World’s largest smartphone maker, Huawei is also planning to build a range of electric cars.

Last year, Chinese mobile giant, Xiaomi, with a 13% market share overtook iPhone maker Apple to become the world’s third largest smartphone maker.

And now Xiaomi, known for making high-end smartphones, nicknamed “China’s Apple”, wants to make luxury EV that will rival those from Tesla as well as Apple’s upcoming car sales.

According to reports, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun will lead the project to capitalize on the lucrative Chinese electric car market.

The upcoming Xiaomi’s first electric car will be a high-end EV packed with premium and safety features as well as sophisticated technology.

While Apple is reportedly in talks with several automakers, including Kia, Xiaomi has already approached Chinese based automakers Nio and BYD to help bring its electric car project to fruition.

But Xiaomi isn’t the only Chinese tech company that wants to enter the auto industry. World’s largest smartphone maker, Huawei is also planning to build a range of electric cars.
