Toyota Corolla “50 Million Edition” Celebrates Historic Milestone Of World’s Best-selling Nameplate
Japan-only Toyota Corolla ’50 Million Edition’ celebrates the historic milestone of the World’s Best-selling nameplate.
Japanese automaker Toyota reached the milestone of 50 million Corollas sold over twelve generations.
The special ’50 Million Edition’ is available in three body-styles, including Corolla, Corolla Sport and Corolla Touring.
The Corolla, first introduced in 1966, has set many records, including being the best-selling car in the world by 1974.
It became the best selling nameplate in the world in 1997, surpassing the iconic Volkswagen Beetle.

This year, Toyota reached the milestone of 50 million Corollas sold over twelve generations, and to celebrate this milestone for the world’s best-selling nameplate, the Japanese automaker launched the Toyota Corolla 50 Million Edition that is only available in the Japanese market for now.

The special ’50 Million Edition’ is available in three body-styles, including the four-door Corolla sedan, a five-door Corolla Sport hatchback, and Corolla Touring. Estate.
The sedan and the Estate come fitted with 17-inch aluminum wheels shod in 215/45R17 tires, while the hatchback gets 16-inch aluminum wheels with 205/55R16 tyres.

Other unique exterior touches include the glossy black lower grilles, rear spoiler, and the “50 Million Edition” badges on the front fenders.
The models are available for order in Army Rock Metallic, Slate Gray Metallic, Platinum White Pearl Mica, Precious Metal, Attitude Black Mica, and Black mica paints, with some of them optionally combined with a black roof.

Inside, in addition to standard equipment like the 9-inch infotainment touchscreen, 6 speakers, air purification system, and several ADAS, the car also gets “50 Million Edition” badges and special trim options including synthetic leather upholstery with red, orange, or gold stitching.
Powering the special edition is Toyota’s hybrid system comprising of the naturally aspirated 1.8-liter engine and an electric motor. The combined power output of 121 horsepower is transmitted to the front wheels through a CVT gearbox.


An all-wheel-drive E-Four variant with the same exact output is only available in combination with the sedan and estate body styles.
Currently, the Toyota Corolla 50 Million Edition is only available in the Japanese market. The Corolla Sport starts from ¥2,830,000 ($24,771), while the Corolla starts from ¥2,835,000 ($24,814). The Corolla Touring is from ¥2,884,500 ($25,248).
