Man Faces 132 Years In Prison After Buying Lamborghini, Rolex With Government’s $2m Loan

Floridan man faces upto 132 years in prison after buying Lamborghini, Rolex with Government’s $2.1 Million Loan.
The 27-year-old Haitian immigrant, who, sought out more than $4.2 million, was paid $2.1 million in PPP Loans.
Barosy, just like Hushpuppi, flaunted his luxury lifestyle on social media, branding himself as a success story.
A Floridan man, Valesky Barosy, has been arrested after using millions of dollars in PPP (Paycheck Protection Program) loans he fraudulently obtained from government to purchase luxury goods for himself and other accomplices.
Barosy, charged with five counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, and one count of aggravated identity theft, was arrested last year. He made his first appearance in federal magistrate court on December 29, 2021.
The 27-year-old Haitian immigrant, who moved to the United States four years ago, sought out more than $4.2 million in Federal Government’s Paycheck Protection Program loans.
According to legal paperwork filed, Barosy, along with his accomplices, allegedly received approximately $2.1 million in PPP loans from the fraudulent scheme.
Barosy then used his illegally obtained funds to buy Lamborghini Huracán EVO, Rolex, Hublot watches, and clothing from fashion designers Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Chanel.
Barosy, just like Nigeria’s Hushpuppi, flaunted his luxury lifestyle on social media. He branded himself as a success story with captions like :
“From homeless to high-rise sky-high view,’ and ‘you don’t have to be great to get started, get started to be great.”
“4 years ago I was broke, busted and disgusted,’ he wrote in one post. ‘I couldn’t even afford to put gas in my car or even buy dollar menu at McDonald’s.”
“I remember getting cursed by a cashier at McDonalds just because I didn’t have the extra 50 cents for a sweet and sour sauce. And today, because of hard work and determination, we are featured on top publications like ABC, FOX etc.”
Based on those charges, 27-year-old Barosy could face up to 132 years in prison if found guilty.
