delta4x4 said the whole project cost the wealthy customer €139k (around $148k), excluding the Mercedes-Benz G500.

These includes €50,000 for the snow tracks and its installation, and another €69,000 for homologation and testing purposes.

In addition, the client also spent €20,000 on roof rack, front bars as well as a set of bigger wheels for summer use.

Automotive specialist, delta4x4 has shown off a Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² on caterpillar tracks that it created in partnership with CapricornTrucks for a customer who wanted an SUV that can easily handle the snowiest of hills.

Fitted with a twin-turbo V8 engine with up to 416 HP, the Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² already stands out without caterpillar tracks as it combines Humvee-like off-road specifications with sportscar performance.

But this off-road tracked Mercedes G-Wagon, created by outfitting the G500 with an aftermarket all-terrain Mattracks Rubber Track System, was specially designed for a perfect winter experience.

To make room for the caterpillar drive, the suspension of the Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² SUV was raised by 20 centimeters, before the Mattracks was bolted to the vehicle’s existing stud pattern.

The beauty about this track is that they can be removed any time and swapping between wheels and tracks won’t interfere with wheeled operation if wheels and tyres are returned back in the summer months.
