Facelifted 2024 Hyundai Elantra N Gets New Wheels And More Aggressive Bodykits
It’s about 2 months since Hyundai unveiled the refreshed Elantra (Avante) in its home country (South Korea), and now the Elantra N lid has been taken off and it looks meaner than the current model.
The sporty sedan adopts the redesigned bonnet and headlights of the lesser trims, albeit with a new version of the N-specific bodykit which signals its performance credentials. Another new feature is the 19-inch alloy wheels, with five round holes reminiscent of Alfa Romeo and black N emblems on the center caps.
At the back, the diffuser panel that houses the license plate has been reshaped, and the rear reflectors are now sited a little higher. Overall, it’s still an intimidating look that not everyone will warm to, but in the right color, we think this car would look mega. Hyundai hasn’t released any photos of the interior, but the Elantra N may offer some infotainment upgrades and new trim options.
Another missing piece of the puzzle is the powertrain as it’s unclear whether Hyundai has modified the turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine. In the pre-facelift model, the four-pot is good for 276 horsepower and 289 pound-feet (392 Newton meters) of torque. Transmission choices should remain the same, a six-speed manual and an eight-speed, dual-clutch automatic.
Expect a full debut to take place in the coming weeks. As a refresher, Hyundai has already confirmed there will be a next-generation Elantra N with a gasoline engine but it likely won’t be joined by an equivalent i30 N hot hatch.
