Toyota Gazoo Racing Teases A Motorsport-Inspired Concept To Debut At LeMans
Toyota Gazoo Racing will rejoice in the centesimal anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a unique wonder at this 12 months race on June 10 and 11. Alongside accumulating all 5 of its Le Mans-winning racecars for a circle of relatives shot, the automaker teased a mysterious thought with motorsport-derived applied sciences.
The single teaser shot reveals the lower part of the front end. We can see two sets of quad LEDs flanking the lower intake, a prominent splitter, and canards. Those features suggest that this concept is not an evolution of the reportedly canceled road-going supercar project. The presence of a license plate holder means that it could be based on an existing or future production model. While there is no info available at this point, the upper part of the bumper makes us think it might be a beefed-up version of the Toyota Prius that could also serve as a preview of the rumored GRMN future variant.
Whatever it is, the new concept will be unveiled at the Circuit de la Sarthe over June 10-11. The automaker will also host a themed exhibition with the Japan National Tourism Organization and Mazda, the first Japanese auto manufacturer to win Le Mans in 1991. With that in mind, we would be remiss if we did not note that Mazda and Toyota are rumored to be working on new electric sports cars together.
