Audi Q8 Gets Refreshed For 2024 With New Lights And Improved Interior

Audi’s Q8 has been running since 2018, which means that the SUV with the steeply sloping roofline is now about five years old. In the car world, such an age means a facelift is on the way and Audi has no intention of moving away from that tradition. Today we are therefore introduced to the facelifted Audi Q8.

The Audi Q8 gets a revised front with – and this is for the first time for the Q8 – HD matrix LED headlights with adjustable light signature for the daytime running lights. The SUV gets new bumpers and the grille is also new. It is no longer filled with horizontal and vertical slats but is characterized by a kind of inflated honeycomb pattern in the SQ8 TFSI and the versions with S-line optics. The mask around the grille, like various other exterior parts, is now available in black or silver gray. The bumper work at the rear of the Q8s has also been tightened. We find more news at the rear with the lighting. Just like the headlights, the OLED taillights now also have an adjustable light signature. Audi brings new colors, wheels, and finishing options to the Q8.

The Audi Q8 will be available in three versions. For example, the regular Q8 exists alongside the versions with the S Line exterior package and the SQ8. Just like the Q8 e-tron, the Audi Q8 now also has the more two-dimensional Audi rings on its snout and butt. The logo is no longer in chrome but in white and black. For an additional charge, the rings can be made in dark gray, which, according to Audi, looks more like glossy black. The model name and the name of the powertrain can now be found on the B-pillar – just like on the Q8 e-tron.

The Q8 will be available on the European market as a 231 hp and 500 Nm strong mild-hybrid 45 TDI and as a 286 hp and 600 Nm powerful 50 TDI. They both have a 3.0 six-cylinder diesel engine. There will also be a 340 hp mild-hybrid 55 TFSI – also a six-cylinder – and a sporty SQ8 TFSI. The latter variant has a 4.0 V8 with cylinder deactivation that produces 507 hp and 770 Nm. With that power, it sprints from a standstill to a speed of 250 km/h in 4.1 seconds.

For the time being, Audi has not said anything about the return of plug-in hybrid powertrains. They were there before. For the time being, we assume that plug-in hybrid engine versions will be added to the engine range of the refreshed Q8 later. Before the facelift, the Q8 was available as a plug-in hybrid 55 TFSI e and as a 55 TFSI e, respectively 381 hp and 462 hp, powerful plug-in flavors that should allow you to drive electrically for up to about 45 kilometers.
