NCAA : Acting DG Has No Official Car, Didn’t Procure N250M Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Without Due Process
Acting DG Captain Chris Najomo did not procure Toyota Land Cruiser 300 worth N250m without due process – NCAA
NCAA stated that Captain Najomo has no operational vehicle since assumption of office in December 2023.
Agency said Daily Nigerian report was “fabricated, baseless and untrue”, adding that it failed to do proper investigations.
The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has debunked a report by online newspaper, Daily Nigerian, alleging that the Acting Director-General, Captain Chris Najomo, procured a vehicle worth N250 million without due process.
Spokesman for the Authority, Mr. Michael Achimugu, said the report was “fabricated, baseless and untrue”, adding that Daily Nigerian failed to do due diligence on his ‘investigative story.’
While addressing the press at the NCAA Headquarters in Abuja on Monday April 29, Achimugu stated emphatically that the Ag. DGCA has not purchased any vehicle since he assumed office in December, 2023.
He promised to resign and “advise the Ag. DGCA” to do same if the Daily Nigerian can provide proof of purchase, mulling a likely legal action against the medium and the reporter for publishing falsehood.
“NCAA has not paid any amount of money for any vehicle in the world since Captain Najomo came into office and I challenge the writer to present evidence and I will tender my resignation immediately and not only that I will ask the DG to do same as well,” he emphasized.
Achimugu further stated that Captain Najomo has no operational vehicle since assumption of office in December 2023, as the suspended DGCA, Capt. Musa Nuhu left with the vehicles in his custody.
It will be recalled that Daily Nigerian had on Saturday reported how the Acting Director-General of NCAA Captain Chris Najomo procured a 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser (70th Anniversary Edition) SUV worth N250 million without due process.
