NADDC, Auto Key Stakeholders Pays Courtesy Visit To Dangote Sinotruk West Africa Limited

The officials of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), led by Director General Mr Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, has paid a courtesy visit to Dangote Sinotruk West Africa Limited.

Also part of the visit were automobile key stakeholders, who joined in talking facility tour of the Dangote Sinotruk West Africa assembly plant located at Plot 3 Oba Akran Ikeja, Lagos State.





Dangote Sinotruk West Africa is a Joint Venture with a total investment of $100 million, with Dangote Industries Limited owning 65 percent of the equity while Sinotruck of China owns 35 percent.

Last year, the company said it has a capacity to assemble and produce 16 to 18 trucks per day or 10,000 trucks annually, according to Mr. Dolapo Alli, the Regional Sales Director, Lagos/Ogun, Dangote Cement Plc.

LASG Apprehends Man For Stealing Newly Installed Road Light Indicators On 3rd Mainland Bridge

Officers of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) on Tuesday May 7th apprehended a vandal for damaging the newly installed road light indicators on the 3rd Mainland Bridge.

The suspect, one 46 year old Mr. Friday Nwafor, was caught around 8:00 am while tampering with the newly installed road infrastructure designed to provide maximum visibility at nights.

Reacting to the news, the General Manager of LNSC, Prince Dr. Ifalade Oyekan, commended the agency’s officers for apprehending the suspect and preventing further damage to our neighbourhood’s infrastructure.

LAMATA Partners With Waterways Authority To Create A Seamless Transportation Network For Lagos





The Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) has partnered with the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) to create a seamless transportation network for Lagos.

This integration project, funded by the French Development Agency (Agence Francaise de Developpement (AFD), aims to integrate water routes with existing road and rail based transportation.

The LASWA team, led by their General Manager, Mr. Oluwadamilola Emmanuel presented its ‘OMI EKO’ project project plans to LAMATA. These plans include detailed designs, timelines, and an implementation strategy.

The importation of accidented (or damaged) vehicles into Nigeria rose to about 80 per cent with several licensed customs agents blaming the new development on the foreign exchange crisis.

Speaking with The PUNCH on Tuesday, the licensed customs agents notes that it is now cheaper to bring in damaged vehicles and fix them in Nigeria than importing newer ones.

The Vice President of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Ugochukwu Nnadi, told The Punch that :

“The volume of imported damaged vehicles is up to 80 per cent. It is cheaper to bring damaged vehicles in; that is the only one they can bring in. The cost of fixing them is cheaper,” Nnadi explained.

Also speaking, the Youth Leader of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) at Tin Can Island, Remilekun Sikiru, explained that out of 100 imported vehicles in Nigeria, 90 were damaged.
