Two seriously injured pedestrians rescued by LASTMA monitoring team on Lekki-Epe Expressway.
LASTMA personnel arrest, hands over the intoxicated driver and two occupants of Camry to the Police.
LASG urged all motorists to refrain from driving under the influence of alcohol, both within and outside the state.

Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) arrested a drunk driver of a Toyota Camry (YAB 133 JY) after hitting pedestrians before ramming into a commercial LT Bus (SMK 84 YB).
Preliminary investigation by LASTMA revealed that the drunk driver of the Camry hit two pedestrians near Mayfair Garden, heading towards the Epe area of Lagos, as they were crossing the expressway with their luggage.
In a statement, Hon. Sola Giwa, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, disclosed that the two pedestrians who suffered from severe fractures to their legs and arms were transported to Akodo General Hospital.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver of the Toyota Camry lost control of the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, striking the pedestrians as they were crossing the expressway with their luggage.

“The driver, still speeding after the initial collision, then crashed into a commercial LT bus that was dropping passengers at a nearby bus stop.”
Following the crash, LASTMA monitoring team promptly arrested the Toyota Camry driver along with two other occupants and handed them over to officers from the Elemoro Police Station.
According to Hon. Giwa, “both vehicles were quickly removed from the expressway by LASTMA personnel to allow for the free flow of traffic towards Epe”.
While extending his sympathies to the victims and emphasized the importance of road safety, Giwa urged all motorists, including commercial bus drivers, to refrain from driving under the influence of alcohol, both within and outside the state.
