$170,000 Limousine : Flagship Mercedes-Benz S-Class still a best-seller in China despite selling for 1.5 times.

Mercedes-Benz said the S-Class remains the undisputed market leader in its segment despite a challenging year 2024.

In other markets, the 2025 Mercedes S-class is priced between $119,000 and $130k, depending on the trim and options.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class limousine remains the undisputed market leader in China despite having a starting price of around 1.24 million yuan (approximately $170,000 USD) in the world’s largest auto market.

In other markets, the price of the flagship 2025 Mercedes-Benz S-Class limousine starts at around $119,000 – a MSRP that goes up to $130k, depending on the trim and several options available to customers.

“Despite a challenging year 2024, the Mercedes-Benz China Joint Venture operations achieved a strong return on sales,” Mercedes said on Capital Markets Day 2025 dedicated to the 2024 financial results.

“The S-Class remains the undisputed market leader in its segment, and Mercedes-Benz continues to lead the segments for vehicles priced 1 million RMB and above.

“China is already home to Mercedes-Benz’s biggest and strongest research and development network outside of Germany.

“Local facilities in Beijing and Shanghai allow Mercedes-Benz to take full advantage of the local ecosystem and supplier landscape.

“This enables Mercedes-Benz to combine upholding its high internal standards while innovating at “China speed.”
