Range Rover And Defender Models Accounted For 72% Of JLR’s Sales Between April And June

JLR sold 87,286 units in first quarter of FY26, down 10.7% yoy and down 21.7% compared to same period last year.

Jaguar Land Rover Automotive plc (“JLR”) sold 87,286 units (excluding the Chery Jaguar Land Rover China JV) between April and June 2025 (its first quarter of FY26), which was down 10.7% year‑on‑year and down 21.7% compared to the same period last year (FY25).
In the first quarter, retail sales reached 94,420 units (including the Chery Jaguar Land Rover China JV) were down 15.1% year‑on‑year and down 12.8% compared to Q4 FY25.

The overall mix of its most profitable models, including the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Defender, was 77.2 percent of total wholesale volume of 87,286 units in Q1 FY26, up from 66.3% in the prior quarter and 67.8% year‑on‑year.
Tata-owned British luxury marque said that results largely reflects the planned “wind down of legacy Jaguar models”, and a pause in shipments to the US during April 2025 due to the introduction of US import tariffs.
Few weeks back, JLR introduced the black-trimmed variants of Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Defender, with every details of its most profitable models appearing as if dipped in black mirror gloss.
