BYD Celebrates Production Milestone As 250,000th Denza D9 MPV Rolls Off The Assembly Line

BYD’s Denza celebrates production milestone as it 250,000th D9 MPV rolls off the assembly line in China.

First introduced on the Chinese car market in May 2022, the D9 is available in both plug-in hybrid and all-electric variants.

The all-electric version has a 385 miles (620 km), and a 10-minute charge can add 93 miles (150 km) of range. 

The plug-in hybrid variant has a pure electric range of 124 miles (200 km) and a combined range of 652 miles (1,050 km).

Denza, a luxury sub-brand under China’s Build Your Dream (BYD) Group, is celebrating a new production milestone as the 250,000th D9 high-end Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) rolls off the assembly line.

This milestone comes nearly two years after D9 became the fastest new energy luxury model to reach 100,000 mass production cars – a milestone that was achieved in just 11 months since production started.

“From market launch to leadership, continuously driving the MPV market. The world’s first new energy MPV to achieve 250,000 units in production. Moving forward, DENZA D9 will keep breaking boundaries and exploring new possibilities!,” BYD wrote on its X page.

First introduced on the Chinese car market in May 2022, the D9 made its global debut in March 2023 at the 44th Bangkok International Motor Show in Thailand.

Offered as either a four-seater or a seven-seater, the Denza D9’s interior is equipped with seven infotainment screens, including a 10.25-inch instrument panel, a 15.6-inch central control screen, and a head-up display.
