BMW Alpina Joins Rolls-Royce And MINI As A Standalone Brand Under BMW Group

BMW Alpina officially becomes standalone brand under BMW Group, joining BMW, Rolls-Royce and MINI.

All models from the new standalone brand will wear BMW Alpina badging at the centre of their rear ends.

Remarkable portfolio of bespoke options will be available to BMW ALPINA customers to create tailor-made vehicles.

BMW Group has announced that the Alpina trademark is now under its ownership, marking the launch of the BMW ALPINA as an exclusive standalone brand under the German brand’s umbrella.

Thanks to a remarkable portfolio of bespoke options, each vehicle from the new BMW ALPINA brand will be an exclusive object for connoisseurs in pursuit of the extraordinary.

“The transfer of the Alpina trademark rights on 1 January 2026 marks the launch of BMW ALPINA as an exclusive standalone brand under the BMW Group umbrella.

“The initial focus will be on brand activation. Key elements of the BMW ALPINA brand are its unique balance of maximum performance and superior ride comfort, combined with hallmark driving characteristics. This is complemented by an exclusive portfolio of bespoke options and custom materials along with unmistakeable details.”

While a model is yet to be announced, the brand has confirmed that a BMW ALPINA text-based design inspired by the brand’s asymmetrical wordmark from the 1970s will be positioned at the centre of the rear of future models.

Before now, BMW AG and ALPINA, known for creating high-performance versions of BMW and Mini cars, have worked closely with one another for over half a century. The launch of the BMW ALPINA follows the acquisition of the trademark rights to ALPINA in March 2023.
