Shocking moment a massive snake was pulled out of the engine compartment of a car in Anambra State.
Incident drew a crowd of astonished onlookers as a man struggled to pull the lengthy reptile out of the bonnet.
Snakes are often pulled from the dashboards and engine compartments of cars, where they hide during cooler, rainy periods.

A trending video shared online has captured the moment a massive snake—likely seeking warmth during the rainy season—was pulled out from inside a car bonnet in Anambra State, Nigeria.
Although there are no details as to how the snake made its way into the engine compartment, the incident drew a crowd of astonished onlookers as a man struggled to pull the lengthy reptile out of the bonnet.

This scene serves as a critical reminder for those living in snake-prone or bushy areas to always roll up their side windows and check the cabin of a parked car before starting a journey.
As Autojosh discovered, snakes, including venomous ones, are often pulled from the dashboards and engine compartments of cars, where they hide during cooler, rainy periods.
“Snakes prefer to hide in dark, warm places. They’re cold-blooded, so they have to seek warmth from external sources (like a nice, warm engine),” said Toyota of Clermont a dealership in Florida, which highlights that the issue is widespread and not limited to Nigeria.
“Plus, your engine compartment is a safe place to hide out from predators – not only are there lots of nooks and crannies to take cover in, it also provides the snake a great advantage in that they can strike before a predator can reach them.”
