Demand For Iconic Mercedes-Benz G-Class Rose 3% In Q2 2026

Demand for iconic Mercedes-Benz G-Class rose by 3% year-on-year (vs Q2 2025) during the second half of 2026.

In Europe, G-Class sales increased by 25% driven by a 42% surge in Germany, while sales of grew by 66% in the Rest of World region. 

Global demand for the boxy Mercedes-Benz G-Class (G-Wagon) rose by 3% year-on-year (vs Q2 2025) during the second half of 2026, according to the German automaker, whose total sales during this period reached 511,900 cars and vans.

In Europe, G-Class sales increased by 25%, driven by a 42% surge in its home country of Germany, while sales of the iconic, military-grade SUV grew by 66% in the Rest of World region.

A brand-new 2026 G-Class typically retails between $153,900 and $385,000, depending on the trim, powertrain, and options you select. The base G 550 starts at $153,900, while the all-electric G 580 is priced from $163,200.

Priced from around $195,500, the high-performance Mercedes-AMG G 63 variant of the G-Class can top out at over $385,000 when fully customized with Manufaktur features and heavy option packages.

While Mercedes-Benz didn’t disclose specific details about the top performer, the electric G-Class (officially the Mercedes-Benz G 580 with EQ Technology) substantially contributed to the 49,700 customer deliveries (+23%) in 2025—its best sales year ever.

“Customers can also look forward to new models of the G-Class that will expand the product offering,” Mercedes-Benz said earlier in year, while hinting on the upcoming Mini G and the open-top G-Class Cabriolet first announced last year.

During this period (Q2 2026), Top-End sales reached 58,100 vehicles, driven by the G-Class and the flagship S-Class family. While this represents a 10% decline, Mercedes-Benz noted that the Top-End share for the first half of the year stood slightly above 14%, remaining within the company’s target range.

Out of the total 511,900 cars and vans sold by the Group in Q2 2026, Mercedes-Benz Cars accounted for 417,800 vehicles (a decrease of 8%), while Mercedes-Benz Vans recorded second-quarter sales of 94,100 units (an increase of 1%).
