Honda And Toyota Recall Additional 1Million Vehicles For Faulty Takata Airbags
Honda and Toyota have announced recalls affecting more than 1 million vehicles to replace potentially deadly Takata airbag inflators that can explode on deployment.
These most recent recalls come after Takata announced another 3.3 million inflators are defective and needed to be recalled. In total, Takata-related recalls have included 69 million inflators equipped in 42 million vehicles manufactured by 19 automakers.
Defective Takata airbag inflators have been linked at least 20 deaths worldwide, with the majority occurring in the United States. The airbags have also been linked to more than 180 injuries.
Toyota says its recall will cover 601,000 vehicles while Honda will be recalling 465,000 vehicles.

2009, 2010 & 2013 Toyota Matrix
2009, 2010 & 2013 Scion xB
2009, 2010 & 2013 Lexus IS 250
2009, 2010 & 2013 Lexus IS 350
2009, 2010 & 2013 Lexus IS-F
2010 & 2013 Toyota 4-Runner
2010 & 2013 Lexus IS 250 C
2010 & 2013 Lexus IS 350 C
2010 & 2013 Lexus GX 460
2009-2010 Toyota Yaris
2009-2010 Lexus ES 350
2013 Toyota Sienna

2009-2012 Honda Accord

2009-2011 Honda Element
2010-2013 Honda Crosstour

2013 Honda FCX Clarity
2013 Honda Fit EV
Honda is also recalling about 960 Honda Goldwing motorcycles from model years 2009 through 2016 to replace optional airbag inflator modules.
