Minister for Aviation Hadi Sirika says Nigeria has lifted restrictions on Emirates flights.
It comes nearly 8-months after UAE flag carrier was suspended from flying into or out of its territory.
Emirates was suspended after imposing additional COVID-19 test requirements on passengers from Nigeria.
Nigeria has finally lifted its restrictions on Emirates airline flights, nearly 8-months after the largest airline in United Arab Emirates (UAE) was suspended from flying into or out of its territory.
Nigeria had in March suspended the flag carrier from flying into or out of its territory after the UAE flag carrier imposed additional COVID-19 test requirements on passengers from Nigeria.
Speaking on Friday, the Minister for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, said ;
“Today we received communications from Emirates removing some of the conditions for travelling for which we had concerns,”
“Having done that it is necessary to lift the ban on Emirates. This subsequent lifting of ban is a product of lengthy negotiations between us and them.”
In July, Emirates airline hinted on the plan to resume Nigerian operation for summer travels. But the decision was later canceled about 48 hours later.
