The highly anticipated summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska ended without an agreement to resolve or pause Moscow’s war in Ukraine.
Ahead of the talks on Friday, Trump greeted Putin on a red carpet on the tarmac of a US Air Force base and a jet flyover before the Russian leader was invited into Trump’s limousine for a ride to the summit site nearby.

According to Russian state-owned news agency, TASS, Putin “met with Trump on the airfield, after which they got into the US leader’s limousine together, thus beginning the summit with a one-on-one conversation.”
“This was Putin’s first visit to the United States in almost ten years. He last visited in September 2015 to attend the anniversary session of the UN General Assembly in New York,” TASS said.
