Bugatti has shown that ultra-luxury plays by its own rules: the entire series of the Bugatti Tourbillon hypercar has already been sold out, even though deliveries have not yet begun. The car was unveiled in June 2024, but all 250 examples, priced at 3.8 million euros (excluding customs and PVD), have already been sold.

Boss Mate Rimac said there would be no “additional” cars regardless of demand.

The plan remains fixed, and production will extend until 2029. The company aims to produce around 80 cars per year, and some buyers will skip the expensive extras just to get their Tourbillon sooner.

“This is the first all-new Bugatti in 20 years, and it was developed from start to finish in Croatia,” revealed Mate Rimac, CEO of Bugatti Rimac, at the presentation of the new hypercar in the former summer home of founder Ettore Bugatti and today’s factory, not far from Strasbourg. “I am very emotional.” Rimac did not hide his delight.

The car accelerates to 400 km/h in 25 seconds!

Rimac admitted at a conference in the magazine “Automobilwoche” that all the cars have been sold even before assembly begins, and the public can’t wait to see which VIPs will be the first to get their hands on the latest and greatest Bugatti. Technically, the Tourbillon has a big heart with internal combustion—exactly what many buyers at this level expect. At its core is a naturally aspirated 8.3-litre V16 engine from Cosworth, with 1,000 hp, mounted in front of the rear axle and driving the rear wheels. It works with three 340 hp electric motors—two at the front and one at the rear—to create a plug-in hybrid all-wheel drive system with a combined output of around 1,800 hp. The 25 kWh battery promises a range of up to 60 kilometers on electricity alone, while the total weight remains just under two tons.

The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in two seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h in less than five seconds. If you’re interested, and you should be, it reaches 400 km/h in 25 seconds, with a top speed limited to 445 km/h. The design is reminiscent of the “Type 57 SC Atlantic,” the cabin adheres to a mechanical philosophy without screens, and the “Équipe Pur Sang” version stands out with eight exhaust outlets.

This success should be seen in the light of two modern Bugattis. For example, the Veyron was produced in a limited series of 450 units, and its sales lasted almost a decade, from its premiere in 2005 to 2014. On the other hand, the Bugatti Chiron was limited to 500 units and sold out much faster. First deliveries began in 2017, and orders were almost fully booked within about five years.
