Apapa Customs Intercepts Two Lexus RX SUVs Reported Stolen In Canada
Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service intercepts two Lexus RX SUVs reported stolen in Canada.
Said that the two stolen vehicles where found inside a 40-feet container falsely declared as food items.
Command issued a stern warning to smugglers, saying Apapa Port will remain a no-go area for unlawful activity.
At the press briefing, the Command also reported revenue of ₦1.094 trillion as of 21 May 2025, exceeding its target.

The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced the interception of two Lexus RX Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) reportedly stolen from Canada and imported into Nigeria through the Apapa Seaport.
At a press briefing on Thursday, 22 May 2025, the Customs Area Controller (CAC) Comptroller Babatunde Olomu said that the stolen vehicles where found inside a 40-feet container falsely declared as food items.

“Container No. MRKU 0904594 (40 FT) was found to contain two stolen vehicles from Canada. A 2024 model Lexus RX 450 vehicle with chassis number JTJCJNGA6R2017707 and another 2023 Lexus RX 350 with chassis number 2T2BAMCAPCO32741 were falsely declared as food items.”
The two vehicles were part of items confiscated by the Command. The Command also seized codeine syrup disguised as sanitary ware, with a street value of ₦2.7 billion and 390 bales of used clothing.
While issuing a stern warning to smugglers, he said : “Apapa Port will remain a no-go area for unlawful activity. Our officers are fully prepared to detect concealments, seize goods, and make arrests where necessary.”
At the press briefing, the Command also reported revenue of ₦1.094 trillion as of 21 May 2025, exceeding its target. Olomu credited the performance to enhanced operational capacity, citing record-breaking daily revenue collections in October 2024, March and May 2025.
