Before Russian-made Aurus Senat Limo, Vladimir Putin Depended On Mercedes-Benz S 600 Guard Pullman
Before the Russian-made Aurus Senat L700 limousine, Vladimir Putin depended on the Mercedes-Benz S 600 Guard Pullman.
Putin in 2018 ditched his highly favored German-made car as Russia raises to reduce its dependence on Western goods and tech.
The Aurus Limo boasts several distinct capabilities, including its ability to protect Putin even if submerged fully underwater.
Like his new Aurus Limo, the armoured Mercedes-Benz S 600 Guard Pullman can take AK 47 fire, grenades, land mines and chemical gases.
On 7th of May 2018, Vladimir Putin debuted a new Russian-built limousine limousine, officially called Aurus Senat L700, as the former KGB agent began his 4th term and another six years as Russia’s president.
The Aurus Senat L700 limousine, dubbed the Bunker-on-wheels, was used for the short distance from his office to the Kremlin hall for the inauguration. It boasts several distinct capabilities, including its ability to protect Putin even if submerged fully underwater.

Putin’s new bulletproof limousine replaces his highly favored German-made Mercedes-Benz S 600 Guard Pullman as the official state car as Russia raced to reduce its dependence on Western goods and technology.
The Russian leader’s S 600 Guard Pullman is longer and more luxurious than the long wheelbase version of the W221 Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Like his new Aurus Limo, the Mercedes-Benz S 600 Guard Pullman has been heavily armoured to take on AK 47 fire, grenades, land mines and chemical gases.
We don’t know how much Putin spent on his S 600s, but back in 2016, a 1995 Mercedes-Benz S 600 Pullman Guard, which was likely used by the Russian Government before Vladimir Putin first took office as Prime Minister in 1999, came up for sale.
Then, the Moscow-based private seller, Sergei Urov, wanted €1.3 million ($1,351,740) for the Mercedes-Benz S 600 Pullman Guard, a limo that probably cost around $500,000 when it was new.
