BMW Neue Klasse Design Will Be Implemented In Their Future Petrol And Diesel Cars
The next generation of BMW’s electric, petrol and diesel cars will not only look similar but will also share the same high-tech, futuristic features on the inside, offering an almost identical user experience regardless of what’s under the bonnet.
This was revealed by Adrian van Hooydonk, head of BMW Group design, who announced that every future BMW, regardless of powertrain, will speak the Neue Klasse design language. Of course, there will also be a difference in proportions between, for example, electric cars and vehicles on a platform that supports rear-wheel drive and gasoline and diesel engines.
Speaking to Top Gear, van Hooydonk explained:
– The great progress with electric vehicles, new technologies and design language, will be transferred to the entire product portfolio, including our internal combustion vehicles. It will not be difficult for customers, everyone will get new modern BMWs and will be able to choose the drive.
BMW promises that each model will retain a special visual character, that is, not all cars will be like babushkas.
Van Hooydonk emphasizes the high-tech user experience in future models, such as the BMW Panoramic Vision head-up Ekean. Interior details will include an unconventionally shaped central touchscreen, futuristic steering wheel controls and an eco-friendly touch with extensive use of recycled materials.
The first production model to adopt the new styling language will be the electric BMW iX3, which should arrive in 2025.
