Buhari to commission Ultra-modern auto assembly plant built by Nord automobile inside UNILAG main campus. 

Nord automobile limited will use the plant to offer practical training to willing and qualified students of the school.

UNILAG Students will be taught the act of car assembling, repair, service and maintenance of automobiles.

Nord and UNILAG had in July signed MoU to set up an assembly hub at the main campus of the University of Lagos, in Akoka.

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Thursday November 10th commission an ultra-modern auto assembly plant built by Nigerian automaker, Nord Automobile Limited, in partnership with the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

Nord and University of Lagos had in July signed a Memorandum of Agreement to set up an automobile manufacturing and assembly hub at the main campus of the University of Lagos, in Akoka.

The mutually beneficial relationship will allow Nord Automobile Limited to offer “practical training of willing and qualified students of the school in the act of assembling of cars, repair, service and maintenance of automobiles.”

Speaking at the MOA signing ceremony held at the University campus, the then Vice Chancellor of UNILAG, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, explained that :

“What we are doing today is the Triple Elite Model in which we are bringing the industry to the campus.

“This should be the first time this type of thing will be happening in a university in Africa.

“This will be a great opportunity for our students in different departments to contribute to the development of automobiles in Nigeria,”

Nord Automobile Limited is a Lagos-based Nigerian automotive manufacturer. Its operations focuses on assembling, distribution, marketing and provision of sales and after-sale of premium vehicles at relatively competitive costs.

Nord’s lineup of Nigerian-branded vehicles include the Nord Tank pickup truck, Nord Max, Nord Tusk, Nord Flit, Nord A3 Sedan, Nord A5 SUV, Nord A7 SUV, Nord Yarn and Nord Tripper.
